Pierre Louis Herold

Pierre Louis Herold (b. 1996) is a Haitian Port-au-Prince based artist working mainly on cardboard. He was trained by André Eugène, the leader of the artistic movement Atis Rezistans and started presenting his work at the movement’s venue in Grand-Rue, Port-au-Prince, aged 10. He is inspired by Haitian voodoo culture, as well as politics, popular cwulture and the artworld. He has developed a unique surrealist storytelling which is both tragic and funny, a social commentary on life in Haiti.

On Pride Month 2021, Foreign Agent presented Pierre Louis Herold’s exhibition Pride in Port-au-Prince as an Artsy online exclusive.
