Foreign Agent is excited to present a new selection of pieces by Hamed Ouattara, including the iconic Indigola. Hamed Ouattara’s creations are innovative, using old discarded materials, fashioning his sought-after furniture pieces from scrap metal, most of it from old oil barrels which he sources himself, looking out for the best patina. In doing so, he participates not only to the preservation of the environment but also to the construction of new, positive African narratives. His visual creations are influenced and rooted in ancestral history and values but through a contemporary and urban lens “communicating his perception of the present and his vision of the future”. Hamed Ouattara lives and works in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. His unique creations have been presented in museums and galleries around the world.
